Exploring the North
Artworks by Emilia Goncharova, Gennady Raishev, Ivan Osipov, Gennady Gaev, Yuri Frolov, Rashid Nurmukhametov.
The North has always been a major source of inspiration for the Soviet artists. In the 1960s it became a sort of a Mecca for painters of the Severe art style. We present artworks from 1940-1990s by the artists who travelled and explored Chukotka, Taymyr, Far East and Siberian rivers by showing that rough country.
